Nick Offerman of Parks and Recreation will star as Ignatius Reilly in a stage adaptation of A Confederacy of Dunces.

Huntington Theatre Company in Boston said on Monday that Offerman will play the obnoxious, overweight and very funny protagonist of the novel who rails against the evils of the modern age and sells hot dogs from a cart in the French Quarter. The show will run from November 11 to December 13.

A Confederacy of Dunces won a posthumous Pulitzer Prize for its author, John Kennedy Toole. Toole failed to get it published and killed himself in 1969 at 31.

The play has been adapted by playwright Jeffrey Hatcher and will be directed by David Esbjornson. Offerman started his career on the stage, with credits at Steppenwolf Theatre Company and Goodman Theatre.
