A guitarist in Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Leon Russell’s band says San Antonio police are investigating the theft of about $4,000 (Dh14,692) worth of instruments from the group’s tour bus.
The show went on the night of November 23 for Russell, recognisable by his long white hair and beard, and his band at the Aztec Theatre. Guitarist Beau Charron tells AP he played with borrowed instruments.
Charron says the theft occurred early on November 23 as the band slept in the bus, which was parked in front of the theatre.
He says a security camera shows a man with greying hair wearing a Spurs jersey picking a lock to the cargo doors.
Charron reports he lost a mandolin and three electric guitars, including a favourite Stratocaster.
