London: First Sherlock Holmes, now a Spice Girl: It seems putting an engagement announcement in the UK’s The Times newspaper is becoming the way to announce a celebrity wedding.
That’s how former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell announced her engagement to Formula 1 team principal Christian Horner on Tuesday. Benedict Cumberbatch announced his engagement to Sophie Hunter in the same way on November 5.
The 42-year-old mother-of-one will marry the 40-year-old Infiniti Red Bull Racing Team boss, who has a 1-year-old daughter from a past relationship.
They have been dating for the past eight months. No wedding date was announced.
Halliwell has daughter Bluebell Madonna with her ex-boyfriend Sacha Gervasi.
Horner, who is also British, split from Beverley Allen six months after their daughter Olivia was born, after being together for 14 years.
Halliwell has been attending Grand Prix around the world with Horner, so odds are fans can spot the star in Abu Dhabi at the final race of the season on November 23.
