Who doesn’t love a good superhero film? But the good news got just better. Who doesn’t love a superhero with an Arabian flavour?

Hollywood actor Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje, who has acted in films such as The Bourne Identity, Thor and will be seen in TV series Games Of Thrones next year, will act in a film about real-life superheroes from the Arabian world.

The announcement about the actor’s partnership with Dubai-based animation and visual effects studio Barajoun Entertainment was made on the sidelines of the ongoing 11th edition of Dubai International Film Festival. It’s the company’s debut production.

“I look forward to collaborating with Barajoun on our upcoming film and being a part of such a passionate team dedicated to telling the stories of real-life superheroes from the Arabian World. Telling these inspiring stories from such a diverse culture provides today’s youth with realistic, achievable, accessible role models — something I believe is very important,” said Agbaje in a statement. The title and further details will be unveiled next month.

All efforts will be directed at celebrating this region’s rich history and culture, said Ayman Jamal, managing partner of Barajoun.

“We are proud to be the first animation studio to come out of Dubai. At Barajoun, we recognise the potentional of our region by adding value to the global entertainment landscape,” said Jamal.
