Earlier this year, designer Diane von Furstenberg launched an exhibition to celebrate 40 years of the wrap dress she created. Called Journey of a Dress, the exhibit features 198 designs by von Furstenberg that are all variations of the wrap dress, and range from miniskirts to flared pants.

Part of that exhibition is coming to Dubai on October 24. The Middle East edition of Journey of a Dress will feature a retrospective of 13 vintage and contemporary DVF designs, chronicling the wrap dress.

“I was 26 when I created the wrap dress,” said von Furstenberg, popularly known as DvF, in a statement. “I am thrilled to celebrate it now by bringing the Journey of a Dress to Dubai.”

In addition, 11 wrap dresses from the spring-summer 2015 collection will be available for sale to coincide with the exhibition. Made of colourful silk jersey in the brand’s signature prints, they will be exclusive to the Dubai Diane von Furstenberg boutique in the Middle East.

The designer also recently launched a reality show, called House of DvF, which will see her mentor a new generation of designers to work at her label. The show will premiere in the UAE on November 2 on E!.

The Diane von Furstenberg Journey of a Dress exhibition will run until October 31 at the Mall of the Emirates store. Admission is free.
