Get ready to sing along, Abu Dhabi: The famed Broadway show Beauty and the Beast is coming to town. Inspired by the Oscar-winning Disney animated film of the same name, the production will play at du Forum on Yas Island from October 30 to November 8.
The show’s arrival to the UAE is part of an international tour to mark its 20 years on stage. It tells the story of Belle, a young woman, and the Beast — prince placed under a spell — premiered on Broadway in 1994. It has since been nominated for nine Tony Awards and is still one of the longest-running and highest-grossing Broadway shows of all time.
Directed by Rob Roth and choreographed by Matt West, with costume design by Ann Hould-Ward, the tour will see the show’s original creative team reuniting.
There are five productions of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast currently playing around the world including in Paris and tours in North America, Spain, Japan and Germany.
