The Philippines’ acknowledged ‘Queen of Soul’ Jaya got her star on the country’s version of the Walk of Fame in Eastwood, Quezon City, last week.

The singer was cited for her outstanding contributions to the local music industry, in particular for being the first Filipino recording artist to have a single listed as one of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart with the song If You Leave Me Now, which peaked at 44 when it was released in 1989.

Other celebrities who were recently immortalised with their own stars on the 9th anniversary of the Walk of Fame included actors Jestoni Alarcon, Sylvia Sanchez, Angel Aquino and Tom Rodriguez.
