Filipino basketball aficionados and Kapamilya and Kapuso fans in Dubai will have a chance to play hoops with their favourite showbiz stars in a celebrity basketball event next month. Filipino celebrities will compete against a team of Filipino expatriates at the Al Wasl Sports Club, Oud Metha Road on October 10, in a first-of-its-kind event in Dubai. Fans are also invited to an after-party following the celebrity match.
The celebrity team will have Star Magic artists Matt Evans, Joem Bascon, Alex Castro, Carlo Aquino and Arron Villaflor, along with Kapuso stars Antonio Aquitania, Mico Aytona and Gene Padilla. To complete the roster are heartthrob Jordan Herrera and Rowell Quizon.
The event will also feature exhibition games between Filipino schools in the UAE and a special women’s basketball match.
After the exhibition games, the afterparty show dubbed ‘Party with the Stars’ will be held at Rocky’s Cafe at the Regent Palace Hotel in Karama. This time, the participating celebrities will be showcasing their musical talents in a mini concert.
