Filipino rock star Bamboo is back in Dubai to close his 2014 World Tour at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Friday night.

In his sixth concert in the UAE, the 38-year-old, whose real name is Francisco Gaudencio Lope Belardo Manalac, looked a lot fresher and more radiant than when tabloid! interviewed him last year.

Bamboo confided that the past few years, especially this year, have been exceptional for him.

“If I’ll think of this year’s world tour and with The Voice of the Philippines show, I have to pause and think — wow it’s been a great year for me,” said the award-winning singer and star coach of The Voice of The Philippines. “I’m great and happy. I’ve done so many things and it’s been a great year so far, with The Voice and the process of making a new album.”

Asked if we can expect anything new from the concert, he said fans will be in for a surprise. Furthermore, as a performer he says he loves to surprise himself onstage.

“What inspires me to keep coming back to Dubai — and to other countries — is that I’m bringing a piece of home to the Filipino expatriates in the UAE,” he said. “In my 20 years in the industry, I’m still hungry for more. I still consider myself a beginner, still learning things to be a great singer and performer.”
