Dubai: When actor Farhan Akhtar enters a room with his wife Adhuna, all cameras and eyes usually turn to him.
But on Saturday morning, the tables were turned as Bollywood’s stylish couple visited their hair salon, b:blunt, at DIFC’s Liberty House.
The power — or should we say scissors — were wielded by Adhuna, the creative director of b:blunt, the swanky salon that opened its first branch outside India in Dubai’s financial district.
“Yes, it’s a good change,” said Adhuna with a laugh.
“Oh, I am enjoying this. Let me watch her being interviewed,” cut in Akhtar, as he sunk back into a winged chair and observed his wife. The pride was there for all to see.
“I can’t take credit for this. b:blunt is her vision. I will support her if she needs me. But this is all her effort. I am excited for them. I am not the wind beneath her mane, she is the wind beneath my mane,” said Akhtar, scanning the chic white and teal interiors.
Ahead of his gig at the Dubai Music Week on Saturday, Akhtar had taken time out from his rehearsals to accompany his wife to the salon launch. Naturally, his wife is on call to make him look good on stage and tame his hair if it succumbs to humidity.
“But the concert is not about my hair. Seriously, I am looking forward to performing. I am not nervous yet but the nerves will hit just before I get on stage. That’s good because it will be that kick to let loose.”
