Esha Deol’s four-day wedding celebrations started on Monday amidst much glitz and fanfare at the InterContinental hotel in Juhu, Mumbai. Though her mother Hema Malini wanted to keep the sangeet a low-profile affair, the turn-out was far from modest as friends and cousins turned up in their finest Indian clothes to wish Deol and fiance Bharat Takhtani well.
“I am madly love with him, I can’t take my eyes off him,” Deol said of Takhtani, who called deol his “princess for life,” and added that that he is “looking forward to having my best life and my most wonderful life with my partner.”
Deol’s cousin Abhay Deol attended with his girlfriend Preeti Desai. “I wish they live happily together and obviously it’s a momentous occasion. I am very excited and happy for them,” he said.
The newly-wedded Deshmukhs Genelia D’Souza and Ritiesh presented a picture of marital bliss. “I just wish them a happy married life. I am extremely happy for Esha that she found her true love and wish them both a happy married life,” Deshmukh said, while D’Souza added:
“I am sure it’s going to be an exciting new chapter in their life.”
Sen sisters Raima and Riya, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl star Ranveer Singh, Zayed Khan and Madhoo also attended Deol’s special day.
On a separate note, Salman Khan has lent his most-trusted bodyguard Shera to the Deols this week. Shera’s mission? To spot gatecrashers at the wedding.
Deol’s mehendi ceremony will be on June 28 followed by the a traditional wedding in a temple June 29 and a reception the next day.
