Are you ready for a star-studded evening in the company of host Seth Meyers?

Once again, the Primetime Emmy Awards are under way and they will be airing live in the UAE through pay-TV network OSN. But you have to be a dedicated TV aficionado to catch them, as the event will be broadcast through OSN First HD on August 26, at 1am local time — yes, that means staying up late on a school night.

The 66th edition award show will honour many shows airing in the UAE. Leading contenders include Downton Abbey, Kevin Spacey’s House Of Cards and Matthew McConaughey’s True Detective. Controversial hit series Game of Thrones has received the most recognition with 19 nominations, while American Horror Story: Coven received 17 and Breaking Bad received 16.

As far as comedy goes, Louie, Veep and Silicon Valley are all up for awards. Modern Family, which has won Outstanding Comedy Series for the past four consecutive years, is up for the same title once again.

Meanwhile, long-running variety TV show Saturday Night Live, another OSN staple, is up for an impressive 14 nominations, bringing its total number of nods to 185.
