My take on Bollywood remixes sold in markets today: Atrocious. There's no room for style and no one experiments. The so-called remixes are nothing but rehashed old tunes.
Nasha's disaster-control measure: Bring out an album that underlines the importance of creativity. This untitled album will hit the stands shortly.
The USP of the album: Acclaimed Western and classical Indian artistes are a part of my new album. Fortunately, the album, which took more than two years to complete, has no rehashed tunes. Artistes such as Kailash Kher, U. Srinivasan and Ustad Sultan are on board.
Will it be another Flute Fantasy (DJ Nasha's best-selling single)? A phenomenon like Flute Fantasy happens once in a lifetime. I am not even attempting to outdo it.
His past year has been all about: Travelling. I was in the US for a good part of it. Participating in Subswara (a musical tradition followed in New York's club nights that interlaces Indian music and modern sounds) was one of the highpoints.
His take on setting up the first professional DJ academy in Mumbai: It's going great. My advice to the students is to think out of the box instead of following the herd. I am actually considering starting one in Dubai too.
His favourite gigs in Dubai: I love playing at the Mix (Grand Hyatt) and Trilogy (which I hear no longer exists).
About the DJ: Nasha is an ethnic house and folk music aficionado. He has successfully broken away from the Bollywood remixes mould.
