After rocking the box office last year with Christmas release Dhoom 3, superstar Aamir Khan will be once again hoping the festive season proves lucky, as his film P.K. has been postponed until Christmas 2014.

The film, a political satire directed by Rajkumar Hirani and co-starring Anoushka Sharma, was earlier scheduled to release in June.

“PK release shall be in Christmas 2014,” producers Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films announced here Monday, without citing any reason.

Earlier this month, Khan, who is riding on the success of ‘Dhoom 3’, had indicated that the film’s release will not be rushed through. The actor is also involved in distribution of the movie.

“Hey guys, P.K release date is finally locked... This Christmas [December 25]...My lucky date! Jai Ho!” Khan tweeted on Monday.

The actor previously tasted box-office successes with Taare Zameen Par, Ghajini and 3 Idiots — all of which came out at Christmas.

Khan had indicated he won’t release the film until he’s completely happy with it. “I have not yet seen the first cut of ‘P.K.’ Till I see it, I can’t comment much. We are releasing the film on June 6. But if after seeing it, I feel there is more work needed in it then we will not come out on June 6,” Khan has said.

“If more time is needed to get something done in the best possible manner, it would be foolish to unnecessarily rush things,” he had said.

Khan’s Dhoom 3 came out on December 20, 2013, and took in Rs5.01 billion worldwide in 17 days.
