Catherine Zeta-Jones has told how she went “cold turkey” and stopped surfing the internet.

The Welsh actress said she used to become upset at seeing negative stories about herself. After being treated for bipolar disorder last year, she decided to give up browsing the web to improve her mental health.

“The smartest thing I did was to stop going online,” she told the US edition of InStyle magazine. “I’m the sort of person who will just look for the negative... And with my bipolar thing, that’s poison. So I just stopped. Cold turkey. And it’s so liberating.”

Zeta-Jones, 43, said her diagnosis had strengthened her marriage to Michael Douglas. “You find out who you really are and who you are married to.”
