Bruce Jenner and wife Kris Jenner, the Kardashian momager, have separated but don’t plan to file for divorce.

“I’m doing great,” the former Olympian, 63, told People. “Kris is happy, I’m happy. Nobody is filing for divorce.”

The couple, who have been married since 1991, announced their separation last Tuesday, confirming that the two were happily living apart – he at his Malibu beach house and she at the Kardashian family home in Calabasas.

“We are living separately and we are much happier this way,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars said in a joint statement. “But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our No 1 priority.”

“We ended a marriage, but that’s not the end of our friendship. I will always love him, but we are no longer a couple in that way,” Kris told Us Weekly. “We are happier this way.”

Reports out on Tuesday said that Kris was the driving force in the split but had not contacted a divorce lawyer. They’ve allegedly been separated since June, TMZ said.

However, if they did decide to divorce, the couple would have to squabble over an alleged $125-million (Dh459 million) fortune, since they did not sign a prenuptial agreement, Radar reported.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars will also keep filming their juggernaut E! reality series (which is reportedly worth $40 million), despite their separate abodes.

“Kris has her own place and I have my own place. There’s no animosity. Everything is good,” Bruce said.

Kris told TMZ on Wednesday that she and Bruce still love each other, get along great, work together, talk on the phone 12 times a day and remain “best friends,” adding that there had been no “last straw” that ended their relationship. She said they were happier living apart and everything was normal. They were even still working together to plan the family’s annual Christmas party.

On April 21, she wished her husband a happy 22nd wedding anniversary on Instagram, saying, “Happy Anniversary Bruce!!!! Best 22 years I could ever have imagined...hope the next 22 is even more fabulous...I love you!” However, she hasn’t been seen wearing her wedding ring over the last few weeks, E! reported.

Between them, the two have 10 kids spanning several relationships, but together they have two daughters, Kendall, 17; and Kylie, 16.

Kris is mum to daughters Kourtney, 34; Kim, 32; and Khloe Kardashian, 29; and son Rob Kardashian, 26, whom she had from her marriage to late O.J. Simpson defense lawyer Robert Kardashian. The couple was married from 1978 to 1991.

The decathlon gold medalist and his first wife, Chrystie Crownover, have a son, Burt, and daughter, Casey, from their relationship between 1972 and 1981. After they split, he married Linda Thompson in 1982 and had two sons, Brandon, 32, and Brody, 30, who have also appeared on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. His relationship with Thompson ended in 1984.

Rob Kardashian was one of the first of the famous siblings to address the split on Wednesday, while his social media-savvy sisters remained mum on the topic.

Bruce has “been in my life since I was 2 years old and that will never change and same obviously with my mom. ... Same with my sisters, there’s no bad blood. Even between my mom and Bruce, there’s no negative, bad blood. ... I don’t think they can be in a happier place right now,” he told Entertainment Tonight.

His sister, Khloe Kardashian, who is going through her own tumultuous marital problems with NBA player Lamar Odom, was photographed with her husband of four years for the first time in months as they were en route to her mother’s home reportedly to show their support, Us Weekly reported.
