Is Anushka single?
Anushka Sharma (yes, the girl from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi) might not have had her career take off as yet, but her love life definitely has. After being linked to Shahid Kapur, she is now supposedly interested in Ranvir Singh, the new lead in Yash Raj Films’ next production Shaadi Mubarak Ho. The two were spotted at a suburban café in Mumbai enjoying dinner, cricket and each other’s company.

According to a source, since Singh has been told strictly by the producers to keep alow profile, the two have not made any public appearances. But that has not stopped them from attending private dinners and other parties. When asked whether they were an item, Sharma’s spokesperson said there was no truth to the rumour and the two are just good friends. Of course, we’ve heard this before!

Akki loves his stunts
Akshay Kumar might be on the wrong side of 40 but that doesn’t stop him from doing his own stunts. Recently, while working on Housefull, he was asked to take a leap from a balcony of one high-rise building to that of another. The crew suggested that he use wires to avoid an accident. But you know Akshay and his love of stunts – the warning fell on deaf ears.

He took his image as an action hero seriously and decided to go ahead with the stunt without the wires.  Can somebody please tell this guy that chasing cheap thrills is not particularly wise. If he paid the same level of attention to his acting skills, then he wouldn’t have had to resort to such gimmicks to draw people to watch his movies, would he?

Ashutosh hunts online for the prefect Buddha
After the debacle of What’s Your Rashee?, Ashutosh Gowariker was lying low, looking for scripts that would redeem his image as a reputable director.

Since Jodhaa Akbar’s stupendous box-office run, Ashutosh has earned a reputation as one who does justice to historical subjects. Keeping his core competency
in mind, he has decided to make a film on Gautama Buddha.

When asked who would play the lead role, he said, “To portray the innocence of prince Siddhartha and the compassion of the ‘enlightened one’, I am looking for a fresh face ... hence a worldwide, online search.” Hope Ashutosh remembers that, till now there have been several films made on the subject (remember Shah Rukh Khan’s Asoka), but none of them made any lasting impact at the box office.
Well, trends have never inspired or deterred Gowariker and, hopefully, they still won’t.
