He’s already scored in the football world. Now Arab Idol winner Mohammad Assaf is moving onto Formula One, with his first concert at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Assaf, who performed at the Fifa World Congress on Tuesday in Sao Paulo, will play at the first of four after-race concerts at du Arena on November 20, organisers Flash announced on Wednesday.

Acts for the three other shows — which in the past have included the likes of Paul McCartney, Eminem and Beyonce — have not been announced. The annual four-night concert series is known as Yasalam.

Assaf’s performance will be part of the November 20 Arab music showcase, which also features Egyptian pop star Tamer Hosny, Lebanese singer Carole Samaha and Emirati singer Fayez Al Saeed.

Access to the show is restricted to those holding Abu Dhabi Grand Prix tickets.

“The announcement today sets the tone for what is poised to be the best Yasalam yet,” said Flash Entertainment CEO John Lickrish in a statement. “This year’s After-Race Concert series kicks off with the most distinguished Arabic artists in the region and race enthusiasts and music fans are in for a great show.

“The remaining line-up is yet to be announced and as every year, it will be the most illustrious artists in the world that will give memorable performances,” he added.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is on November 21, 22 and 23 at Yas Marina Circuit and tickets can be bought at yasmarinacircuit.com.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix ticket holders will have access to the concerts on the same date of the purchased F1 ticket, plus two invitations to the Thursday After-Race Concert, two Friends Friday invitations, selected After-Race Concert Golden Circle upgrades and other offers. They also get 20 per cent discounts on selected Flash-organised concerts until February 2015. More details here.
