Diab FM
A new radio station named Diab FM, owned by Egyptian star Amr Diab, is getting ready to start official transmission. The station has already chosen its presenters and producers for the programmes.
It has been open for a month now and is still in the trial stages, airing songs only by Diab.
Meanwhile Diab released a new music video for the song Ba’dem Albi (I Present My Heart) in February. He showcased the clip exclusively on his website before airing it on the music channel Rotana.
Diab also recently completed shooting a music video for the song Wayah (With Him) for which he was the executive producer. American Cameron Casey directed it. The clip was filmed in Cairo and cost US$250,000 (about Dh920,000).
Khashab’s new role
Egyptian actress Somayah Al Khashab is getting ready to star in a new television drama series called Mukaddar wa Maktoub (It’s destiny), written by Mahmoud Abu Zaid.
It’s about parents trying to modify the genes of unborn babies and change their characteristics. The series stresses the risks that these families face by trying to change nature and by interfering with God’s will. Somayah plays the role of a distraught woman who lost everything when her home collapsed. Her poverty leads her to volunteer as a subject of research for perfect babies.
