Popular Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama has denied reports that he was involved in the cancellation of Amr Diab's New Year concert in Beirut.

Some reports claimed that Alama was responsible for the cancellation because he feared that people in Beirut would attend Diab's concert instead of his show.

Alama denied the allegations and said that he did not attack Amr Diab and was not involved in the cancellation of Diab's concert in the Lebanese capital.

Alama also said he was surprised to hear that Lebanese event planner Jan Saliba had said he was happy to hear of the cancellation of Diab's concert. Incidentally, Saliba has strongly denied that report.

Alama said that his relationship with Diab is very good, adding that people should stop spreading harmful and malicious rumours about artists.
