Entertainment and equestrian action blended seamlessly at this year's Dubai World Cup with Bollywood A-lister and Longines brand ambassador Aishwarya Rai Bachchan presenting Most Elegant Lady prize.
"It's wonderful to be here and see such finely dressed women in their hats and beautiful dresses," said Bachchan at the presentation ceremony. But unlike the majority she wasn't sporting an elaborate hat or a dress as the mother of a four-month -old opted for a traditional red tunic by Sabyasachi and golden sandals.
"Yes, I am travelling with my baby and its just wonderful to be in Dubai," said Bachchan to Gulf News before she was whisked away from the Jaguar Style Stakes stage.
The Most Elegant Lady winner was chosen by style spotters put together by Longines, the luxury swiss watch maker.
"I couldn't believe my eyes when she (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) walked up on stage - it was unbelievable. She is so gracious," said Caroline Coe, the winner of Most Elegant Lady title.
Meanwhile, more than 400 contestants dressed in designer-best aimed to impress the judges for the Jaguar Style Stakes.
