The stars walked the red carpet at Emirates Palace on Sunday night, this time for the international premiere of The Citizen at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival.
The film’s director Sam Kadi, leading actor Khalid Al Nabawy and producer Amir Kabour were joined by actor William Atherton, who arrived in Abu Dhabi yesterday.
This is Atherton’s first time in the Middle East.
Atherton said he hopes to visit Dubai.
Speaking of the Middle East, Atherton said it’s a “fascinating” part of the world where he’d love to shoot a film if the opportunity arises.
“Being here is exciting,” he added. Atherton played a TV journalist in Die Hard 2, and also appeared in TV series Lost to Murder She Wrote.
Of The Citizen, he said “it’s a very intelligent and deeply-felt movie.”
Also on the red carpet was Nicholas Jarecki and Mohammad Al Turki, director and producer of Arbitrage.
Egyptian actress Menna Shalabi, Kuwaiti actor Dawood Hussain and Egyptian actor Bassem Samra also attended.
The screening was followed by a Q&A session.
