It’s an Oscar de la Renta!
After much speculation, guessing games and bets, we now know that bride of the year, Amal Alamuddin (sorry, Kim Kardashian), chose the Dominican Republic-born American fashion designer to dress her on her biggest day.
People and Hello! magazine were the first to publish the images from the dream wedding in Venice, following three days of celebrations in the Italian city.
“After George Clooney and Alamuddin exchanged traditional vows, platinum bands and a lengthy kiss at their 30-minute wedding ceremony on September 27, the newlyweds turned to their family and friends and the place went wild,” reported People.
Alamuddin follows in the footsteps of Kate Bosworth, Amanda Peet and Jenna Bush Hager by choosing de la Renta, who is famed for his red carpet-ready gowns.
The Lebanese-British lawyer has been wowing fashion observers during the weekend-long celebrations in the romantic city.
She was first spotted in a nautical Dolce & Gabbana dress on Friday, when she took a water taxi ride with Clooney. Then, that same evening, she was seen in a scarlet Alexander McQueen resort 2011 red gown with a black brush-stroke print for her rehearsals.
Alamuddin’s next public appearance was after her Saturday wedding when she was spotted in a Giambasttista Valli featuring a rise-and-fall hemline with red embroidery on Sunday.
“It was amazing. It was beautiful,” Valli told The Associated Press.
“I was feeling so lucky to have somebody so beautiful — but beautiful in every sense of the way, to interpret my creations,” he added.
Then, on Monday at the civil ceremony, the 36-year-old wore a two-piece bespoke Stella McCartney trouser suit paired with a wide-brimmed hat.
Clooney, 53, and Alamuddin, 36, who are now believed to be on their honeymoon in Morocco, were engaged in April. Details of the weekend-long celebrations have been top secret although the A-list guests, including Cindy Crawford, her husband Rande Gerber, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt and Anna Wintour, have been spotted around town.
What we now know though is that the new Mrs Clooney has just become everyone’s new style crush.
