ABU DHABI Ukrainian artist Yuri Shevchenko is hosting an auto art exhibition at the Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche Hotel until November 30.
“On till November 30, the exhibition is dedicated to Formula 1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix Abu Dhabi 2014. I love fast cars, and this exhibition is a celebration of the fascination for F1,” Shevchenko told XPRESS.
“I see many fast and legendary cars on the roads of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I am very impressed with the people here and their taste for fast cars,” he added.
The auto art is the premier exhibition of Yuri, who is is well known for his contemporary pop-art and oil paintings on canvas.
“The car is a unique human creation that evokes a desire to speed and possess. A car’s life is very connected to the life of its master. Therefore, fashion, culture and other social necessities were transferred into cars. Automobiles are like people – they have a character, leader, favourites, etc. There are famous, rich and ordinary cars. I have tried to capture all those in my paintings,” said Yuri.
