With state elections in Tamil Nadu around the corner, here comes a Tamil film that reflects the current state of affairs in the state.
KO 2, directed by first-time director Sarath, is a political thriller featuring Prakash Raj, Bobby Simha and Nikki Galrani.
“KO 2 highlights the common man’s woes and the issues he grapples with today,” says the former software professional, who quit a lucrative career in Singapore to make a new beginning in films. After studying direction and screenplay writing in London, Sarath assisted directors Vishnu Vardhan and Chakri Toleti, before going solo.
Raj plays the chief minister of the state. Simha, Galrani and Bala Saravanan play TV reporters. The supporting cast includes Karunakaran, John Vijay and Nasser.
KO 2 is produced by RS Infotainment with music scored by Leon James. Bollywood’s Salim Merchant sings on Kannamma Reprise.
“I don’t expect KO 2 to bring about a change in society, but I believe that it will ignite viewers to think and maybe make an impact on the voting,” adds Sarath. KO 2 releases in India on May 13.
