Dubai: The Al Aqili Twenty20 Ramadan Cup saw Ibsons and United Bank Limited (UBL) score victories over Robt Stone and Emirates Cricket Board Greens respectively to keep their unbeaten records in the tournament intact.

Ibsons won their match easily, thrashing an out-of-sorts Robt Stone by 106 runs. After posting 182 in their 20 overs, led by Fayyaz Ahmed’s 38, Ibsons skittled their opponents out for just 76, Ahmed starred with the ball as well with three wickets for just three runs.

UBL didn’t have it so easy in their encounter against a young Emirates Cricket Board Greens side. A six from Qazi Ayub off the penultimate ball of the match saw UBL secure a nervy four-wicket win.

The Greens batted first and, led by a patient innings of 54 by Chirag Suri, reached 124-5. In reply, the UBL batsmen all contributed until it was up to Ayub to see them to a tense victory.

In other fixtures, a controlled 72 by Mohammad Kaleem of Royal Gymkhana went in vain as Nissan Al Masaood recorded an easy four-wicket win. Zaheer Baig smashed 43 off just 24 balls to guide his team to the 180 target Royal Gymkhana had set them.

Elsewhere, a quick-fire half-century by Shaimon Butt steered Yogi Group to a comfortable nine-wicket win over Afghan Kabul in the fourth Al Dhaid Ramadan Tournament at the Al Dhaid Cricket Village.

Afghan Kabul lost their top order batsmen cheaply and ended on 112-7. The Yogi openers raced to 91 runs in just 12 overs, Butt blasting 60 off just 38 balls. The rest of the runs were knocked off easily as Yogi Group waltzed to a nine-wicket win.
