Northern Ireland left-back joins Hammers as they prepare for Premier League return
London: West Ham have signed Northern Ireland left-back George McCartney for a third time in six years as the London club rebuilds before returning to the Premier League.
Senegal midfielder Mohammad Diame and goalkeepers Jussi Jaaskelainen and Stephen Henderson have also joined West Ham during the close season.
McCartney moves to Upton Park from Sunderland after playing on loan at West Ham last season. He won the team’s player-of-the-year award after helping them earn promotion into top-tier English football.
He also played for the Hammers from 2006-08.
