HOW WELL ARE YOU MANAGING YOUR DEBT OBLIGATIONS? Residents in the UAE could do well to clear off their debt obligations where possible - especially if they are getting a bit of help from bonuses coming their way for 2022 performances at the workplaces. Anything that can be done to mitigate the the higher payouts on loan instalments and the like would help these residents in the longer run. Because it doesn't seem that the US Fed Reserve is in any mood to bring to a halt the episodic rate increases. If UAE consumers don't have a bonus coming in, they could think about refinancing or any other option that would mean having to pay out a few hundreds more to service their loans. This year, financial prudence will help. (By Manoj Nair, Business Editor)

NEW ZEALAND ONCE AGAIN PROVED A TOUGH NUT TO CRACK: England have been steamrollering their rivals with Bazball approach under New Zealand manager Brendon McCullum and skipper Ben Stokes. However, their stunning run came to a halt in New Zealand, a tricky place to be. The Kiwis, historically, might not have a star-studded field but the plucky team revolves around one or two greats, exactly what happened in the second Test at Wellington. After being forced to follow on, former skipper Kane Williamson showed his skills when the team needed it the most and with help from Tom Bundell, they set a modest target of 258 and defended it by one run. Once again, the New Zealanders have defended their home well and even a strong English side could penetrate their wall. (By A. K. S. Sathish, Sports Editor)

JUSTIN BIEBER PRIORITISES HEALTH AND WE APPLAUD HIM FOR THAT: Last year, Justin Bieber announced that he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, a rare disease that caused him partial facial paralysis, and was taking an indefinite break from concert and tours. At that point, we didn’t how long the 29-year-old pop idol’s self-imposed sabbatical would last. It looks like he’s still fierce about prioritizing his health. Yesterday, reports emerged that Bieber’s World Tour dates, scheduled to begin this March 2023, have been scrapped entirely, with ticketing outlets announcing cancellations. It’s not an easy call for any celebrity to make – after all this is their livelihood and identity. But Bieber did it and he stands tall among his fans. He meant it when he said that he needs to make his health his priority and he’s doing just that. Celebrities facing breakdowns due to their hectic work schedules is not new, but full marks to Bieber for learning when to stop and say no.
