DUBAI POLICE’S CYBERCRIME TRIUMPH: In a commendable feat, the Dubai Police have executed a meticulously coordinated security operation targeting an international syndicate of cybercriminals and fraudsters. These culprits exploited major enterprises across multiple countries by infiltrating email correspondences between company leaders and branch managers. Dubbed "Monopoly," the operation, led by Dubai Police's specialised Anti-Cybercrime Team, resulted in the arrest of 43 suspects from various nationalities, exposing the identity of the gang leader and 20 accomplices. The criminals orchestrated a two-phase money transfer amounting to an estimated $36 million. The operation's success was marked by the issuance of an international pursuit and arrest warrant, a “red notice”, against the masterminds, effectively dismantling one of the most perilous international hacking and fraud syndicates while recovering the stolen funds. The operation started with a report through the anti-cybercrime platform, e-crime.ae. This prompt response highlights the significance of robust cybersecurity measures and Dubai's dedication to combating cybercrime. (By Jay Hilotin, Senior Assistant Editor)
