MORE HOTEL ROOMS IN DUBAI: Dubai's hospitality sector is set to expand with 9,200 new hotel rooms by the end of 2023. This will bring the total number of hotel rooms in Dubai to 154,000, representing a 6.4 per cent increase from 2022, according to a recent report by Knight Frank. The new rooms are expected to be quickly occupied due to the consistently high demand, even during summer. Key players contributing to the expansion include Accor, Marriott International, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Hilton Worldwide. Dubai welcomed 8.6 million tourists in the first half of 2023, a 20 per cent increase from the previous year. This growth reflects Dubai's enduring appeal as a global tourist hotspot, with internationally branded hotels constituting 67 per cent of the city's existing supply.
