GET YOUR HEPATITIS B SHOT: The UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) recently announced that the country wants to eradicate hepatitis by 2030 — through vaccinations, screenings, and awareness campaigns. World Hepatitis Day is commemorated annually on July 28. The Ministry noted that this day presents a significant opportunity to raise public awareness and educate people about the preventive, diagnosis, and treatment options available to combat the disease, lower the risk of infection, and stop transmission. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises everyone from birth up to age 49 to get hepatitis B shot. MoHAP said it had elevated the eradication of hepatitis to a top priority.
