UAE SHOWS HOW YOUTH OF TODAY ARE LEADERS OF TOMORROW: It is easy to see that youth are a priority segment in the UAE. The country has a young minister for youth affairs, as well as a minister of culture and youth. It has a Federal Youth Authority and most major government departments have a youth council. Yesterday, the UAE joined the world in marking International Youth Day (August 12) with a series of talks – including by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan – and workshops focusing on further developing the talent of young women and men in the country. MANCHESTER UNITED DESPERATE FOR RASHFORD TO STAY: Erik ten Hag, the new coach of Manchester United manager believes striker Marcus Rashford will stay at Old Trafford this season. The England forward has been linked with a move away all summer and was tipped to join French side Paris St-Germain. But Ten Hag has reiterated his desire for the 24-year-old to stay at the club. “He knows I love him, he knows I want him to be here,” said the former Ajax coach who began his tenure as United manager with a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Brighton last weekend. Ten Hag will be desperate for Rashford to stay put as finding a suitable replacement with just 2 weeks of the transfer window remaining will be difficult. If United were to lose Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo who has made clear his intentions of wanting to play elsewhere, United will have a very difficult season. REMEMBERING A LEGEND: Bollywood actress Sridevi would have been 59 years old today. Her daughters and many others have paid tribute to the star, who died in February 2018, on social media. Even though years have passed since her tragic death, people still remember her for her impact on cinema. She was still a working woman and seemed to be on a career high, exploring new roles and garnering acclaim at a time when older actresses were not given many chances.
