MAN CITY AGREE £45 MILLION DEAL WITH LEEDS FORM PHILLIPS: Manchester City are not wasting any time in bolstering their squad for the new 2022/23 Premier League season. Pep Guardiola’s side will be attempting to defend their league title and have now added Kalvin Phillips to the team after agreeing a £45 million deal with Leeds United for the England midfielder. City made Phillips a priority after Fernandinho left this summer following nine years at the Etihad. Phillips made 214 appearances for Leeds and is expected to provide back up for Rodri. SONGS OF THE TIMES: Pop superstar Beyonce has been in the news since the release of her new song ‘Break My Soul’, which many are saying is a reflection of The Great Resignation and burnout. “Now I just fell in love/And I just quit my job... they work me so damn hard/Work by nine/Then off past five/And they work my nerves,” the artist sings. While Beyonce herself hasn’t commented on the meaning of the song, it’s no wonder that so many people have assigned meaning to it during these turbulent times that are only doing to get rougher. Art reflects life, and vice versa. [COMMENT BY: Jennifer Barretto, Assistant Editor - Features]
