ENTER SHEHBAZ SHARIF: After a political saga that transfixed ordinary Pakistanis and observers alike, there is now clarity about the political scene in the country. Shehbaz Sharif, brother of former PM Nawaz Sharif, is likely to become the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Monday. Shehbaz is no stranger to political power in Pakistan himself, having served as chief minister of the populous Punjab province. He has a reputation for being a tough administrator, and it is hoped that he will guide the country away from the turmoil it has experienced in the past few weeks. More than anything else, Pakistan needs political stability now to address the several tasks at hand. [COMMENT BY: Omar Shariff, International Editor]

ALL SHADES OF CELEBRITY MARRIAGES: While Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s impending wedding this week is sending Bollywood fans in a tizzy, there was another wedding in Hollywood that had our hearts. WOODS RECORDS WORST MASTERS ROUND OF HIS CAREER: In spite of a bumpy back nine in yesterday’s third round world number one Scottie Scheffler still looks likely to win his first major at the 2022 Masters. He carded a one-under 71 and has a three-stroke lead going into today’s final round. The 25-year-old American will tee-off later this evening and his closest challenger is Australian Cameron Smith. Meanwhile, five-time champion Tiger Woods dropped down the leaderboard after recording the worst Masters round of his career with a six-over 78 in chilly Augusta conditions. The 46-year-old is making his first competitive appearance since a horrific car crash 14 months ago where the former world number one feared his leg would need to be amputated. Not many believed he would be able to return to the sport and so even though he has faded here after a bright start it is just great to see him back in action.
