Crusader Rashford gets a pat on the back from Barack Obama: Marcus Rashford, the young Manchester United striker who had been doing a lot of work on social issues like campaign to tackle child food poverty in Britain during the coronavirus pandemic, earned a pat on the back from from former US president Barack Obama. ‘’A lot of the young people I meet - including Marcus - they're ahead of where I was when I was 23. They’re already making changes and being positive forces in their communities,’’ said Obama when they met virtually in an online conversation organised by Penguin Books and discussed topics such as the positive impact of reading. For Marcus, it was a ‘’surreal experience’’ which will motivate him to engage in more such causes. [COMMENT BY: Gautam Bhattacharyya, Senior Associate Editor]
