DUBAI’S DECISION TO EXTEND SCOPE OF 10-YEAR VISAS TRULY REMARKABLE: When it comes to thinking ahead of the times, the role played by Dubai and the UAE is truly exemplary. The decision to extend the ten-year golden visa facility to new eligible categories of professionals and experts is yet another instance of how Dubai and the UAE continues to set new benchmarks in tapping human talent and ensuring maximum possible socio-economic benefits for the maximum numbers. There is no doubt that this new provision, that comes into effect from December 1, will further strengthen the country’s innovation-based economy and provide a more conducive atmosphere for the intellectual development of professionals, as some academics have rightly pointed out. PEACE IN LIBYA WILL TAKE TIME: On Sunday, talks on Libya’s future adjourned without naming a new transitional government. Clearly, a lot of work still remains to be done in the war-torn country. But, the important things is that the ceasefire is holding. A decade of brutal conflict cannot be resolved in a few days. Also, there is international will to push for the peacemaking process. The UN said that delegates will resume talks online next week to discuss a reformed structure and role for the executive authority. The long-suffering people of Libya deserve nothing less. Colman stars as Queen Elizabeth II in it, and the latest season’s timeline includes Princess Diana and Prince Charles. The lives of the royal family still manage to capture the imagination of so many and people still feel the loss of Princess Diana to this day.
