ABU DHABI'S LATEST MOVE ON VACCINES DESERVES THANKS: The UAE community should take advantage of the latest move by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi to make healthcare even more accessible, by allowing approved pharmacies in the emirate to administer COVID-19 vaccines and PCR tests. Pharmacies are found on virtually every street, making it convenient for everyone to step inside and take the vaccine or test, which is offered at a low price of Dh40, again thanks to arrangements led by the department. Encouraging and expediting residents towards health-related goals ultimately leads to the whole community’s wellbeing and it is up to all of us to show our appreciation by availing the latest measures. ENGLAND AND GERMANY READY FOR EURO 2022 FINAL: The England women’s football team will be bidding to win their first major trophy tomorrow at Wembley against Germany in the Euro 2022 final. They will be hoping it is third time lucky having suffered defeat at Euro finals in 1984 and 2009. The Lionesses lost on penalties to Sweden 38 years ago and more recently 6-2 against the Germans. They will be seeking revenge tomorrow and a full house is expected to roar the team on. England coach Sarina Wiegman – who led the Netherlands to Euros glory in 2017 – will be doing her best to ensure her team lift the trophy. If she manages it she will become the first coach to win back-to-back women’s Euros with two different nations. [COMMENT BY: Imran Malik, Assistant Sports Editor]

WILL SMITH SEEKS REDEMPTION, AGAIN: There’s no denying that Will Smith slapping Chris Rock was an abominable move, but you have to Smith credit for trying to seek redemption time and again. Yesterday, the actor posted an online video claiming that he was ‘deeply remorseful’ and regretted every moment of that incident, but comedian Rock is still not ready for his apology. While it’s heartening to see a public figure acknowledge his public stumble (“I am sorry really isn’t sufficient”) and his inglorious fall from grace, it also tell us that forgiveness is never guaranteed. Currently, Will Smith cuts the picture of a man who has done the crime and is doing the time. Here’s hoping Rock meets him somewhere in the middle.
