Base jumping from skyscrapers, bridges and waterfalls is no mere feat, and this latest video doing the rounds on social networking sites will take your breath away.

On its Instagram account, XDubai released new Go-Pro footage when the French duo Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet base jumped off the Burj Khalifa.

In 2014, Fugen and Reffet made it into the Guinness World Record Books after they plunged from the 828-metre tower. The Soul Flyers World Champions, with the support of Skydive Dubai, won the title for the Highest Base Jump from the Tallest Building after they jumped from a specially-constructed 3-by-1 metre platform.

What is Base jumping

Base jumping is parachuting or wingsuit flying from a fixed structure or cliff. "BASE" is an acronym that stands for four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump: building, antenna, span, and earth.

Due to the lower altitudes of the jumps, base jumping is significantly more dangerous than skydiving from a plane.

In 2016, XDubai and Skydive Dubai collaborated in a stunt where four wingsuit flyers zipped through the skyline of Dubai Marina.
