Sharjah, 29 April 2018 Sharjah’s Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA), yesterday, organized a major celebration “Hag Al Laila (middle of Sha'ban)” in the Islamic Botanical Garden, Desert Park. The celebration was organizedas a recreational heritage program for EPAA staff and visitors. Sharjah: Sharjah’s Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA), celebrated ‘Hag Al Laila’ (middle of Sha’aban) on Saturday at the Islamic Botanical Garden, Desert Park.

A recreational heritage programme was organised for EPAA staff and visitors in which many entities participated including Children’s Farm, Women’s Committee of Dibba Al Fujairah’s Culture, Theatre and Arts Centre, Social Services Department, school students and women traders.

“The night of the middle of Sha’aban is of a special importance for the UAE community. It is rooted in the memory of children and brings adults back to the colourful past days,” said Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, chairperson of the EPAA.

She added the EPAA is keen to organise events that reflect heritage and contribute to educating younger generations about the importance of such celebrations.

The event included various shows, activities and programmes, including vintage cars show, childhood memories crosswalk, Rokn Al Maqha, Rokn Dokkan Al Freej, clothes knitting, heritage games and Zahbat Al Aroos show, among others
