Dubai: Abu Dhabi and Dubai are upping up the ante to stimulate consumer spending, with mall operators promising to give away Dh1 million cash and Dh200,000 worth of iPhones and other electronics this weekend.
Retail conglomerate Majid Al Futtaim announced on Thursday that one lucky shopper will walk away with Dh1 million this Saturday, July 28, as part of the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) promotion.
In Abu Dhabi, some Dh200,000 worth of iPhone Xs, iWatches and Samsung Galaxy 9s, as well as entry passes to some of the emirate’s attractions, will be given away to big spenders.
Dubai promotion
Starting this weekend, five shoppers at Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira and City Centre Mirdif will be selected daily for a chance to spin a bonus wheel and win up to Dh20,000 cash prize. On Saturday, one lucky spender will get to spin the wheel and walk away with Dh1million.
The mega prize is up for grabs to those who will spend a bit of shopping money at Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira and City Centre Mirdif this weekend. And it will go to a shopper who will get to hit the jackpot on spinning the wheel.
Abu Dhabi promotion
As part of the Abu Dhabi Summer Season, consumers who spend at least Dh1,000 at Bawabat Al Sharq Mall will get the chance to bring home some electronic items on Friday and Saturday.
Shoppers can pop into the mall’s “Unbox the Amazing” stage and try the spin-the-wheel game for the chance to win the prizes.
Aside from gadgets and passes, shoppers also stand the chance to score some restaurant and mall vouchers, as well as discounts on staycation packages, beauty products, gold and electronics.
