Dubai: Sultan-ul-Bohra Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, head of the world-wide Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community, has urged community members to strive for the progress and prosperity of the UAE.

Dr Syedna is paying a short visit to the UAE. He was welcomed by tens of thousands of Dawoodi Bohra Muslims at the Burhani Masjid Complex in Al Ghusais on Tuesday, said a press release.

Addressing the community members, Dr Syedna urged them to contribute positively to the nation-building activity and uphold the efforts for improvements in civic life through hard work and dedication.

Recalling his earlier visits to the UAE, he praised the wise and benevolent leadership of the UAE’s Rulers. He said that their vision and farsightedness have taken the country to great heights of technological development, happiness and prosperity. He also prayed for the leadership and welfare and prosperity of the UAE and its citizens.

As Ramadan draws closer, the leader advised the community members to prepare themselves ahead for the holy month of fasting and prayers and perform deeds that would please Allah.

He explained the significance of Lailat Al Qadr, the night of power, and emphasised that Ramadan is an occasion to ask for forgiveness, engage in acts of charity, caring for humankind, and enlightening lives through devotion and piety.

The Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community in the UAE consists of businessmen, traders and a large number of white-collared professionals who have excelled in various fields.
