Dubai: LuLu Exchange has waived off all transaction charges to those sending funds to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, through all its branches in the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The waiver has come in aid of the people affected due to incessant rainfall that has affected life in the south Indian state of Kerala.

“The floods in Kerala has affected the lives of thousands, and we were touched by the gravity of the disaster. The Gulf is second home to a large number of expats from the state of Kerala, and it was our duty to do our bit to help them reach out to those suffering in the deluge. We stand in solidarity with the people of Kerala and are humbled to have been one of the first organizations to waive transaction charges to those sending funds to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund,” said Adeeb Ahamed, managing director, LuLu Financial Group.

The Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund provides financial assistance to people affected by major natural calamities like flood, drought, fire etc. The aim of the fund is to provide immediate relief to the people in distress and the resource for the same is gathered by voluntary donations from the public.

“We sincerely hope that people donate generously to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund as it will be of great help to those affected by the floods,” Ahamed added.
