Dubai: If you need help with your utility bills, you can now pay them in instalments without interest if you are an Emirates NBD credit card holder.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) and Emirates NBD have collaborated to enable bank customers to pay their Dewa bills in instalments up to 12 months with no interest or extra charges.

“We always work to adopt innovative channels and mechanisms that enhance the quality of our services and achieve customer happiness,” Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of Dewa, said.

“We use the highest standards of efficiency and reliability to support our efforts to contribute to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world, and the Dubai Plan 2021 for Dubai Government to be proactive and creative in meeting the needs of individuals and society as a whole. The new service, in partnership with Emirates NBD, enables its customers to pay their Dewa bills in instalments effortlessly, to make everybody happy,” Al Tayer added.

Emirates NBD credit card holders with Dewa bills at a minimum of Dh500 may opt for the service. Gulf News contacted Dewa on the maximum amount of Dewa bill that can be enrolled in the service but no information was available at the time of going to press.

Abdullah Qassem, Group Chief Operating Officer of Emirates NBD, said the initiative was aligned to the leaders’ vision of making Dubai a globally-leading smart city and to simplify and improve the lives of the city’s residents.

“We are delighted to empower customers with the option of paying their Dewa bills in interest-free instalments via digital platforms, bringing them greater convenience and flexibility,” Qassem said.
