Dubai: Thrill seekers now have another adventure to tick off their bucket-list, and become part of a human slingshot right here in Dubai.
XDubai has announced that its new attraction, the XDubai Slingshot, will be open to the public on October 26, 2018 along Kite Beach.
Shaikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, who is also fondly known as Uncle Saeed on UAE social media, already took the daring plunge on Wednesday and posted the jaw-dropping video on his Instagram account.
For a cost of Dh280, adrenaline junkies can experience a G-force of up to 4, and reach speeds of 100 km/hr in just half a second as they are propelled 120 metres over sand and water.
What does that mean?
G stands for Gravity and represents how many times the force of gravity is felt at a particular point. So for example, if a person feels the force of 4G, it indicates four times the force of gravity. If a rider weighs 100 kg while standing still, they would weigh 400 kg at the 4G point of the ride.
Mohammad Javad, general manager of XDubai, said: “The new Slingshot - the region’s fastest - is an incredibly thrilling experience that invites people to stretch their limits. Not for the faint of heart, the Slingshot, provides a quintessential XDubai experience designed specifically for the region’s adventure-seekers.”
The XDubai Slingshot will be open three days a week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9am-12 noon and 1-7pm at Kite Beach for a limited time.
All riders must meet strict safety requirements and are required to wear safety helmets throughout their experience.
