UAE inventor wins four medals at Geneva exhibition

Geneva: UAE’s Ahmad Majan won four medals for his latest inventions at the 43rd International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva on Saturday.

The exhibition is recognised as the world's most important market place for exhibitors and it attracted around 1,000 participants from 45 countries.

Majan said he presented five inventions in the competition.

His creations,  a smart saddle which was displayed for the first time and a GPS for tracking a solar-powered bicycle, scooped gold medals. He also won two silver medals for his remote control device for fishing nets and a smart duck trap.

The Emirati inventor dedicated his achievements to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and other UAE leaders.

“Support and encouragement by the visionary leader His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid often leads to victory and provides the key to excellence,'' Majan said, adding that his participation was aimed at proving the UAE's merit and raising the country's flag at the forum.

He also praised Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, for his continued encouragement and unwavering support for his career.

Majan has also received a special citation from the Chinese Innovation and Invention Society for the smart saddle. Spanish inventors honoured Majan during a visit to the UAE pavilion.
