Dubai: Two Indians each won $1 million (Dh3.6 million) in Dubai Duty Free’s (DDF) Millennium Millionaire promotion on Tuesday.

The lucky tickets were drawn at Concourse B at Dubai International Airport.

Arjun Harish Nayaka from Sharjah (ticket 4625) was announced the winner in the Millennium Millionaire Series No 244.

Nayaka, who works for WSP Engineering Consultancy in Dubai, was thrilled. “It’s a truly memorable day for me and my family. I can’t wait to share the news with my wife and son who are coming back to Dubai after a short holiday in India. We will be delighted to meet the Dubai Duty Free team who made this happen,” he said.

The second dollar millionaire was Vijayaram P.K, a 46-year-old engineer at Al Futtaim Carillion, who won in Series No 245 with ticket 2294. He is a regular participant in the promotion.

Meanwhile, Emirati Saadi Al Rais will be claiming his third prize from Dubai Duty Free after winning in the Finest Surprise Draw that was conducted directly after the Millennium Millionaire.

Al Rais won the latest model of an Audi A8L 3.0 in Series No 1655 on Tuesday. He had previously won a BMW 750Li back in 1996 and eight years later, in December 2004, he scooped the $1 million Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire prize.

Colm McLoughlin, DDF’s executive vice-chairman and CEO congratulated Al Rais on his latest win. “I have no doubt that he is a great supporter of DDF and our promotions and look forward to presenting him with the keys to his Audi A8L very soon,” he said.

Another winner, Dana Beydoun, a Canadian living in Dubai, won a BMW S 1000 RR motorbike in DDF’s Finest Surprise Promotion, in Series 306 with ticket No 0731.
