19 August, 1909: First postal agency opens in the emirate of Dubai, affiliated to and managed by Indian Post Office Services.
7 October, 1932: First letter is posted from the Dubai postal service via Sharjah Airport.
1 April, 1942: The postal agency becomes an integrated post office, providing all basic services.
15 October, 1947: Management of the Post Office comes under the supervision of Pakistani administration.
1 April, 1948: Dubai Postal management is transferred to British administration, after the independence of India.
7 January, 1961: Issue of the first set of stamps of the Trucial States in Dubai.
1963-1964: Post offices open in the emirates of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.
1 August, 1972: Establishment of General Directorate of Postal Services under UAE Ministry of Communications.
1 January, 1973: Issue of first set of ordinary stamps bearing the name of the United Arab Emirates.
30 March, 1973: The United Arab Emirates joins the Universal Postal Union, based in Berne, Switzerland.
1 April 1985: General Postal Authority is established.
29 May, 2001: Federal Decree establishing Emirates Postal Establishment (Emirates Post) issued.
16 September, 2007: Establishment of Emirates Post Group Holding, with Emirates Post becoming a subsidiary of the Group.
May 13, 2013: Emirates Post Group is tasked with the role of directing and managing postal services, courier services, financial products and money transfer services, following the merger of Emirates Post and Empost under Federal Law No. 3.
