Sharjah: The medical team that accompanied Sharjah Charity International to Tajikistan as part of the “Small Hearts” campaign has performed 60 open heart surgeries and cardio catheters for children who suffered different heart problems.

The 14-member doctors’ team headed by Dr Ahmad Al Kamali, paediatric cardiologist consultant in Al Qasimi Hospital, checked and examined more than 100 cases to determine their medical conditions.

During their visit to Tajikistan last week, the charity’s team laid the foundation stones for setting up a primary school in Rodky village and a clinic in Jihon city.

Ali Al Rashidi, Director of Public Relations and Media at Sharjah Charity International, said that the medical team performed its duties to the fullest with Allah’s help and brought back smiles on the faces of 60 children and their families.
