Sharjah: Sharjah Police on Monday offered condolences to the family of the two brothers who died when a fire broke out at their home in Al Ghafya area in Sharjah.

The Pakistani brothers Mohammad Salman, 8, and Mohammad Adnan, 6, burnt to death when fire ravaged the dwelling around 2pm on Saturday.

A delegation comprising Sharjah Police officials visited the family to offer their condolences. The delegation headed by Colonel Ali Saif Al Nadas, director of Community Police Department, as well as Sharjah Police task force officials.

Sharjah Police, in cooperation with a number of authorities, including Sharjah Charity Association, UAE Red Crecent and Districts and Villages Affairs Department, are working together to provide moral and material support to the family.

The family has been provided with temporary housing in one of the hotels in Sharjah.

Sharjah Civil Defence were able to rescue others living in the house on Saturday, but the fire claimed the boys, whose bodies were taken to a forensic laboratory following the blaze.

Investigations continue to determine the cause of the incident.

The grieving parents on Sunday told Gulf News that it was numbing to lose two sons at the same time.

The two boys were the only children in the family.

The father, Mohammad Arfan, 33, described his sons as “full of life, they made the place full with happiness. They had a strong bond between them. They loved each other and helped each other and offered their help to everyone who needed it.”

Arfan said surviving family members will have to rebuild their lives as the fire claimed all of the family documents, including official documents, passports and Emirates ID cards.

The police have launched an investigation to establish the cause of the fire. On Sunday, the family members had told Gulf News that they heard a loud explosion before the fire erupted in the house shared by two families.
