Group to provide facilities to students who can't afford the fees
Dubai The Pakistan Professionals Wing (PPW) has vowed to continue its support for the community schools to provide better educational facilities to students, especially those who can't afford the fees.
The PPW currently is providing full scholarships to 260 less privileged Pakistani students to help them continue their education in the UAE.
Munir Mahmoud, PPW Chairman, said the PPW, which is celebrating its silver jubliee as it was formed 25 years ago, comprises professionals who came under one platform from different fields of life to help the community and promote a soft image of Pakistan.
Speaking at a musical evening with ghazal singer Salman Alvi in Dubai, Mahmoud said that the PPW has been focused mainly on the education sector in the past few years.
Financial problems
As in the last six months, the PPW has extended full financial support to 260 students attending different community schools in the UAE to continue their education as many of them have faced financial problems due to their parents' jobs and asked the PPW to support them," he said.
He added that it is their moral and national duty to extend support towards needy community members.
"We have been receiving applications from deserving students from different community schools as the PPW engaged last year to establish various facilities for students in different schools," he said.
The latest example is the Community Welfare School in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi, where the PPW provided facilities for students such as setting up fully furnished classrooms and other such facilities.
Last year the PPW supported over 400 students and paid over Dh1.7 million in school fees.
